Counsellor Profile: Student – Pat Jones

Personal Introduction

Hello, my name is Pat!

As a compassionate, person-centred at the core, student counsellor, I provide a nurturing and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their concerns and goals, regardless of their background. I believe in the inherent resilience within each person and aim to empower clients through evidence-based approaches tailored to their specific needs. Together, we collaborate to identify strengths, develop coping strategies, and foster resilience, guiding you towards healing, growth, and fulfilment amidst life’s challenges and transitions.

About Me

Drawing from over three decades of experience in nursing and midwifery, I bring a wealth of knowledge and compassion to my role as a student counsellor. My journey in healthcare has equipped me with invaluable insights into human behaviour, resilience, and the complexities of life’s transitions. As a dedicated advocate for holistic well-being, I am committed to providing empathetic support and guidance to clients navigating the challenges of life, mental health, and personal growth.

Currently studying on an MA in counselling and relationship studies, I am working towards an integrative approach to counselling, meaning I have evidenced based knowledge and skills to work with many different approaches and theories.

Based at Sheffield Mind at the start of last year I have experience working with individual clients with a variety of difficulties, including health anxiety, previous traumatic experience affecting current life, depression, isolation, and difficulties relating to family estrangement.

I have a Christian background and I am actively involved within a local Sheffield church. In my leisure time I enjoy music of different genres, walking and spending time with family and friends.
